Double Gang Flush Mount Outlet Kits put two outlets side by side behind one face plate that sits flat with the wall. They install like a regular 2 gang box. After mudding and sanding, the fascia is the only part you see, and a coat of paint blends it into the surface.

How to install a Flush Mount double outlet

Nail on the box
Mount the 2 gang box during framing like a regular electrical box.

Add the ring
After drywall, snap in the mud ring and the mud plug.

Tape, mud and sand as normal.

What is the difference between the single and double flush mount outlet kit?
The single has two outlets and the double has four outlets.
Do I need a 2 gang box for the double flush mount outlet?
No. The kit comes with its own 2 gang black box.
Can I paint the outlet cover?
Yes, you can paint it to match the wall. There is a notch at the bottom lets you pop it off later if you need to service the outlets.
Does it work with standard outlets?
Yes. The kit comes with two black Decora outlets, and it fits any standard Decora outlets if you want different ones. It uses its own 2 gang back box, which nails to the stud like a regular electrical box.
When do you install these flush outlets?
Nail the box to the studs during framing, add the mud ring, then drywall and mud and sand. Next, add the face plate and then paint the outlet to match the wall.
Can I use this kit on tile, stone, wood, or a backsplash?
Flush outlet kits are for drywall only. If you have tile, stone, brick, or wood, you’ll use the double surface mount outlet kit, which installs on top of the surface.
